A recent study paid for by the Campaign for Real Ale surveyed 2,254 people across the United Kingdom. Those who regularly visited bars, dives, restaurants, and similar establishments were more likely to have better social lives than their counterparts2 who didn’t go out as frequently.
Oxford University’s Robin Dunbar, the lead author of the study, wrote that social networks are more important in determining average mental and physical health than any other single characteristic. Dunbar backed up his study with the assertion that regulars at restaurants and bars are likely to form bonds with one another.

People with well-honed social skills are more likely to succeed in their careers and social lives than people without such social skills.
